Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Tuesday blogger friends!!! I think Spring has finally sprung here in Maine! It is absolutely beautiful here! I hope it is where you are too!

Today I want to share the birthday card I made for my hunny, whose birthday was yesterday!!!

Once again I used my big shot machine to make the embossed background. I got this awesome embossing folder at AC Moore and after I ran it through the machine, I sanded the top to highlight the words. I punched the corners with the Stampin' Up ticket punch and adhered it to the card! I used some dark blue and white card stock to make the mats and then stamped the large cupcake (from Stampin' Up's crazy for cupcake set) onto white and hand cut it out! I colored it with watercolor pencils and used dimensionals to add it to the mat!

Inside (which I rarely ever do) is simply matted with the same dark blue and white and stamped in black ink. I colored the Happy with a blue watercolor pencil and voila!!

Plain and simple - easy peasy!!!

Thanks for popping in today! Tomorrow I will show you some of the cards I made at the crop I attended a few weeks ago!

It's Friday.... It's Friday...

I am so excited that it is Friday! This week has flown by for me. I hope it has for you. I cannot believe how fast time is disappearing already this year. I hate it... slow down!!!
I have Spring Fever.... might have to have a fever day soon! What do you do on your Spring fever days?

Today I want to share another birthday card... I am loving this stamp set and coordinating punch for the cupcake from Stampin' Up! There is sooo much you can do with it!

I like bright colors for birthday cards. It makes them a little more easier to use for boys/men!
On this card I used some scrap striped paper and coordinating plain card stock. I used the cupcake punch to make the cupcake and stamped the jimmies on it. I punched the candles from a coordinating color and yellow for the flames! I ran some blue ribbon around the center and tied some red to accent it! In the lower right I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the punch bunch set (that I got for FREE thru sale-a-bration) and punched it out with the scallop square punch.
To top it off - I added 2 red brads to the upper right and adhered it all to the card!!!
I usually leave the insides if my cards blank so whoever uses it can write exactly what they want. (what do you do?)
I hope you have enjoyed this card! Tomorrow I am attending the Canton Cruisers Relay for Life Crop for a Cure event! 12 hours of scrapping fun!! I will be back to share some of the cards I will be working on!
Thanks for popping in!

To you from me.... with love

Happy Wednesday to you! We are officially on the downhill slide of the week. Kiddos, vacation is almost half over, make the most of it!!! Get outside and PLAY!!! Teachers, rest up and have fun!

Today I want to share another birthday card with you! This one is definitely geared towards girls! (The pink is a dead give-away!) :)

I make almost all my cards using a white card stock base. (I really like the white card stock that you can get at Walmart.) So on this card, I mounted pink paper to the white and then added an additional mat of baby blue. I also topped the blue paper with another layer of white but I ran it through the Big Shot using the swiss dots embossing folder to add some texture.
I stamped and punched the cupcake out with the Create a Cupcake set, from the Stampin' Up occasions mini catalog. I also punched a blue scallop circle (the large one), to set the cupcake on. I popped up the cupcake design with dimensionals and added a cherry to the top! I should have added some glitter to the cherry to give it some bling! I placed the scallop circle and the cupcake on a small piece of pink card stock and tied a ribbon around the opposite end. Adhering this piece to the right hand side of the inner mat, after I placed a pink brad above the birthday greeting, finished off the card.

All you would need to do is change up the colors and this card could be for a boy, or even an adult! I hope this inspires you to grab your stuff and get making some cards for all the birthdays you have coming up this year!

Stop by tomorrow for yet another card! Thanks for popping in!

Happy Happy Birthday

I had so much fun making birthday cards this weekend!! I follow a blog hop that happens on the 20th of every month. These ladies are fantastic creators and come up with some great ideas! Most of the cards I made are copies of what they posted!! :)

This card is made using the Create a Cupcake stamp set and matching punch from Stampin' Up! I knew the first time I saw this set that I had to have it! Everyone has birthdays and you can use this set for so many occasions besides birthdays!!!
The top is a muted red card stock and the bottom is some scrap polka dot paper I had in my stash. Between the 2 layers I added some white card stock punched with the scallop border punch. I used a brown mat with plain white card stock for the middle. I stamped the cupcake designs with bashful blue and chocolate chip onto scrap white card stock and punched them out with the punch. I punched the cherry out of red card stock and popped it on the top with a dimensional. I mixed and matched the tops and bases of the cupcakes. I added the sprinkles and the bow on the cupcake, using the stamps from the set.

I ran some brown and gold ribbon around the mat before I adhered it to the card.

To finish it off - I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting from the stamp set to the front of the card! Presto Chango! Done!

Thanks for popping in today. Be sure to check back tomorrow for another birthday card!

Back in the saddle again!

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a fantabulous weekend! We were busy all weekend but I did get some creating time in! It felt good to get some things done. I will confess tho - I didn't get my desk cleaned! I just pushed stuff out of the way to get more projects done! Oh well, there is always another day!

Today I want to share a cute and super easy project that was shared with me by my sis-in-law! (Thanks Missy!) I couldn't believe how easy this went together. It wasn't long and I was flying through them! The hardest part is deciding what papers to use!! :) I have included 4 matching cards and envelopes for them. I varied between the regular scallop edge punch and the fancy edge punch on these boxes!

This first one is using the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP paper from Stampin' Up! I fell in love with this paper and regret not purchasing another package before it was discontinued!

The green one is also using SU paper but I cannot remember what pack it was from! I believe it was a holiday paper from last year but I am not positive!

And here is a group picture of the ones I have completed as of yet. There will be more to come!
I hope you have enjoyed today's post! Please feel free to comment and also to let me know what you would like to see more of! (today I found the cutest gift card holder for Christmas that I will be sharing soon!)
Thanks for popping in!

Some late night inspiration

I had to escape the main living area last night due to a 10 year old sleepover, so I headed to the basement to create! I wasn't sure what would come from the adventure but it ended up being a great night. I am surprise you didn't hear me giggling where ever you were! And since it was into this morning before I went to bed - I am bushed today!!

So - here we go!!!! I was surfing the web last week when I stumbled across this website - here - and fell in love. I have never been an owl person till Stampin' Up came out with their owl punch and it has spiraled out of control!!! I fell in love with this idea and had to purchase the template and directions!

Last night I made the Mr. & Mrs. Claus box with the little cards! Mr. Claus is on one side and Mrs. Claus is in the other side!!! Isn't it ADORABLE!!! It came together so easy! Her directions are awesome! (Of course, it would have been a little easier if I had paid attention when I stapled the pages together and put them in order!!) I did mis-understand one section of the directions and thought I was making 2 boxes when I did not know I was putting Mr. on one side and Mrs. on the other so I ended up with the fixings for another box.

And - of course - it wouldn't be complete without making the little elf cards to go inside the box!! I almost think the elves are the cutest part. I did add some bling with some dazzling diamonds glitter to the hats and clothes.

With the "extra" box parts I had leftover - I decided to make a little girl owl! Today I found out that Lynn has extra owl patterns on her website so I have ordered those!!! I cannot wait to make the other owls and share them with you!!!

I really hope you have enjoyed today's post! I will be "tweekiing" these to sell at my fall craft fairs! If you can think of a design you would like to see - please let me know! And as always - drop me a note and let me know what you think! Thanks for popping in!!!

Friday once again

TGIF! Can you believe it is Friday once again? This has been a very busy week in the Walker household. I attended my very first "31" party. Beautiful bags and totes! I loved them so much I had to schedule a party of my own for November! Then meetings, work and doctor appointments to finish out the week! But the weekend is here and I am so looking forward to! Hopefully that includes some serious scrapping time!

Today I want to share the birthday cards I made recently! I borrowed the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set from my best friend and went to town. I copied her birthday card from her blog - here. I thought that they could be used for anyone of any age or gender. So many color options as well. I even thought about adding some dazzling diamonds glitter to the "frosting" but didn't for this batch! Katie used the spritzing tool from Stampin' Up but I did not have one so I improvised! My daughter had some blow pens and I used them instead! (next time - I will get a spritzing tool!)

I stamped the cupcake and balloon onto the spritzed paper and again onto white card stock. I used my watercolor pencils and colored the cupcake on the white card stock to coordinate with the colored cardstock on the mats. I hand cut the cupcakes out and pop dotted them onto the stamped image. I even stamped the flame onto orange card stock and cut those out separately. I pop dotted those, as well as the balloons in different colored card stock.

I also wanted to share another card that my daughter made. She choose one of my favorites stamp sets, unfroggetable, and found an idea she wanted to copy in a book I made with card ideas! I thought she did a terrific job! She is getting good at making cards and will soon be flying by good old mom!!!
Ash is heading out tonight to visit her other grandparents for the weekend! She is excited for some great one on one time with them! I cannot wait to hear all that she has done when she gets home!

I hope everyone has a terrific weekend! Thanks for popping in!

It's almost Friday!!!

Can you believe another week has almost come and gone? And there is only 50 days till Christmas! I am already thinking about Christmas carols and decorating! (sad I know!) I love Christmas!
Todays post is one more card set for you! I am making a set of 12 this time. 4 of each stamp with a little variation in the designs. This post shows the 3 stamps with the same layout!

I used the Holiday Lineup stamp set from SU! I stamped them in black stazon (does anyone else love the smell of the black stazon??!!). I colored them with watercolor pencils. I used misc paper from my stash (great way to use up my scraps). The ribbon I added onto the bottoms is from a holiday collection I believe I purchased at JoAnn's at some point. On the snowman one - I decided to add a snowflake button for a little zing! I am thinking about adding a sparkly small red pompom to the reindeer's nose. Please tell me what YOU think!!!
Hope you enjoyed todays project! I am looking forward to getting some more done to share over the weekend! I will post some of the gift card holders I have started on tomorrow! Have a terrific Thursday!!!!!

Happy Humpday!

UPDATED WITH PHOTOS!!! (sorry!)
Todays post is some more Christmas cards I have made for the open house! This is a set of 4, made with the More the Merrier hostess set from SU!
I used some gray-blue bazzill cardstock and inked it with a sponge with pacific point SU ink around the edges and into the cardstock.
I added small snowflakes with a stamp from the Perfect Presentations SU set with white craft ink. After they dried, I also inked a scrap piece of white cardstock and placed that about 2/3 of the way down on the card. I stamped the snowmen from the More the Merrier set with black stazon and colored them with watercolor pencils. I mounted the image on black bazzill and added stickles to the hats and snowpiles. I just love snowmen so this set is one of my favorites!

I am working on a variety of gift card holders that I am hoping to share with you this week! I will be back tomorrow with one more set of Christmas cards to share!!! Have a great day!!!

Happy Tuesday!!!

Here I am again! I survived the weekend and Halloween! Hope you did too!! If anyone needs some candy - let me know!
Yesterday was spent playing in my scrap room since the hubby was out working all night the night before, so therefore, no noisy housework for me!! (yeah!)

I really need to clean up my scrap room since I have been bouncing from project to project. Here are some pics of the mess I call my own!!!
I decided to make some Christmas cards to have on hand at the open house! I have also found some new ideas to make and just need more time!!! More scrap time - less surfing time!!

The first set is simply some scrap striped paper and I inked up one snowman from the More the Merrier Hostess set from SU! (love that set but didn't get close enough to earn it.... if someone wants to sell theirs...) :) I did add some stickles glitter to the hat top and the snow piles at the bottom. I made 2 with red scallops and 2 with green scallops! My problem is deciding whether to add a sentiment inside or leave it blank for people to write. Please let me know what you think!

More ideas tomorrow!! Thanks for popping by!

Some projects

Here are some of the projects I have started on to have at the Relay for Life Holiday Open house in November! I didn't want to make too much but knew I needed something to help Ash out with her project! So - here are some of the starter ideas! I have probably cased many of my projects from other sites I frequent. So - if you designed one of my projects, thank you - I never claim any idea as my own since I never have claimed to have thought that was my own!!! :)

The first pic is some get well cards I made. I just love the SU Pick a Petal set. There is sooo much you can do with it! When I saw these cards on Splitcoast I knew I just had to make them. It is a terrific way to use up colored scraps too! I am sure I will be making more as flu season hits here in Maine!

The next pics are a couple of gift card holders. I believe I saw how to make these on Dawn's Stampin Thoughts. She has some terrific tutorials over there - be sure to check her out! And she is super funny to boot! Gotta love her!
Have a terrific Tuesday all!
