Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Wow - 3 days in a row! Must be a record for me lately! But I have been on a roll in my scrap room! I am still trying to think about how to expand my scrap space. I bought a cute shelf at the Christmas Tree Shop (does anyone love that store like I do?) I want to put my glass jars with my ribbon wrapped around popsicle sticks on it so I can see them easier so I use them more!

My sis-in-law gave me an awesome magnetic board and I want to put brads, etc on there as soon I find more wall space! I think I may have to more a shelving unit (which means I will have to clean it off to manage it!) I will keep you up to date on rearranging! If you have any ideas, feel free to share them with me!

Today's layouts are of my oldest niece's High School graduation! I searched online for some layout ideas I could case. I found some over at 2 peas. Great site to check out for inspiration!

The left hand layout is simple pictures matted in white cardstock on a black cardstock background. I used a vellum sticker with a quote in the upper right had corner. To make it pop a little more - I added some yellow paint to the edges of the white cardstock and a rhinestone for bling!

The right hand layout is the more labor intensive one! I had a great time trying to decide where to put all the elements! I painted the chipboard swirls in a wine color and the stars a bright yellow! The hardest part is waiting for the paint to dry so I can move on and adhere them!!!

I added some glitter to the stars and some rhinestones to the swirls to coordinate with the facing page!

The circle is cut from some notebook patterned paper using my CM circle cutter and the scallops are from some composition notebook patterned paper with the cricut. The chipboard letters are some self-adhesive ones I had in my large stock of chipboard! I added some pop dots to the stars to give them some depth!

I hope you have enjoyed the layouts from the last few days! I will be working hard at creating more this weekend! We are due to have a BIG storm on New Year's day here so what a perfect time to hole up in my room! Have a very safe and Happy New Year's Eve!!!

More Mr Mojo!!

This is going to be a good week - I can just feel it! What a great momentum I am starting to head into 2010! Remember when we heard the song that mentioned "party like it's 1999"? Boy - we never thought that day would come and here we are heading into 2010! Wow!

Today's layouts are from my daughter's dance recital! She looks so much older than she is in these pictures! That is scary! I kept these layouts VERY simple! Black, blue and red cardstock and a few simple silver dance stickers I found in my stash. I added a flower and some bling to the center to add some sparkle!

Every now and then I like to do a very plain, clean layout. I usually follow a sketch for all my layouts (I love sketches!!) but this time I thought of it all on my own! (thank you thank you - hold your applause!) :)
Thanks for popping in today! More Mr. Mojo layouts tomorrow!! Remember to leave some comments for me! i love hearing what you have to say! Have a terrific day!

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah - I finally got some scrapping done!!! I was so excited! I could have stayed in my "studio" (aka the basement) all night but alas - I had to go play wii with my family!!

These pictures are from our annual Memeorial Day BBQ at my in-laws! We always eat, play games outside, and take our annual photo shoot! It is always so much fun! This year we roasted marshmallows that evening as well!
I used some papers from a family pack that I received from Christmas. I wish I knew where my mom-in-law got it! (I will have to ask!) I love blues and browns together! The kit had papers, ribbons, punch out saying, and brads, etc that all coordinated! All I added to the first layout is a flower to the top!

The next pics are from our impromptu photo shoot! My sister in law has the perfect backyard for these pics. We have always done them in front of her birch tree but decided to try out the fence this year! (of course we were facing the sun!)

I used some of the same papers from the packet I mentioned above. I used some light brown cardstock from my scrap stash as a mat for the pictures. I added some chipboard flowers that I painted and embossed with clear embossing powder. I also painted and embossed the green leaves. I cut the stem from green cardstock. The ribbons at the bottom are from the kit and I cut the letters on my cricut.

It felt so good to actually get something on paper and get the mojo running again! I will post more pics tomorrow of some of the other layouts I finished this weekend!

Bundle up and stay warm!

The recovery phase

Phew - it is over! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!! We certainly did here!!! But today was clean up day! All the decorations are packed away and gifts are slowly finding there homes! Ash was thrilled to receive some great gifts! Her AG doll Rebecca fared pretty well too! Grammie made a ton of clothes for her, including matching pajamas! And Grandpa hit the jackpot by making a bunk bed to rival all doll bunkbeds! It is sooooo adorable! My parents rock! I really do not think there is anything my mom cannot do. She is so my hero!

Every Christmas Eve my dad reads the "Night before Christmas" to the girls! He usually changes up the words and they all giggle through out the story!

I wanted to share some 12x12 layouts that were given as gifts! I can finally post them now! I think they came out terrific! Sorry the pics might be a little fuzzy. For some reason, I am having problems taking inside pics with it. Guess I will have to chat with my niece who is the pro at it! I will be posting some more pictures on Splitcoast Stampers (here) if you want to see some closeup shots!)

I received some more scrapping stuff for Christmas! I am hoping that after mount washmore gets folded tomorrow - I can play in my room! I want to rearrange and expand! The hubby isn't too keen on it but......... oh well!!!

I hope you are all enjoying the week between holidays! Keep your eyes to the skies are we are forecasted storms here in Maine! Be safe!

Merry Christmas

The major countdown has begun! 2 days to go! Are you done shopping and wrapping, etc? I THINK I am! I did have to go BACK to Walmart this morning but only to exchange a light bulb I bought for my kitchen. I need this light to get the cooking done for Christmas Eve! It is for the light in my corner and I keep reaching for the light switch cuz it is dark in my corner!!!!
I think I have all my wrapping done.

Sorry that I have been MIA this week! Trying to get everything done. I will be sporadic next week as well due to school vacation and New Years! Please stick with me! I am planning on getting some pages done after Christmas! I received a bunch of cool paper and some gift cards to ACMoore last weekend!!! Now I just have to find time to get there!!! And I am sure there will be a Dunkin' Donuts along the way!!!

Have a very Merry Christmas!

BRRRRRR.............

Wow - and I thought yesterday was cold! Today is brutal! I hope all of you are bundled up!
Are you ready for Christmas yet? This morning I decided to bring a bunch of presents to work to wrap while I was there! I really hate wrapping but the hubby didn't get it done last night. I am running out of time. We are headed north to visit Rob's family early Saturday morning. And life just isn't stopping so I can get it all done while at home!

Today I am sharing some more of the pictures from the card packet I made. I worked my way thought several of my stamp sets and used scrap cardstock for most of these cards.

I am not even sure how many cards I have made. My grandmother loves to get them and she uses them all up by spring. I tried to make more this year but who knows!

This picture is a variety of some of the most recent ones. I love the More the Merrier set from SU! I also used the Love you Bunches set, the Heartfelt Thanks set, and Lots of Love set. (all from SU) Most of the coloring was done with watercolor pencils. I do so much better with those than markers.

The next picture shows a few more. I believe one of the sets is Greeting Galore (I hope) and the other is God's Beauty. (I love that set!)

Here is a close up of that card..

Another set I love is the Garden Whimsy. Here is a group from that set....

I really enjoyed making the red and blue card with the butterfly! I liked how it came out. I almost added some glitter to bling it up but decided not this time!

Well, perhaps tomorrow I will share some more! Hope you enjoyed them! Stay warm!

Baby it's cold outside!

Happy Wednesday! Winter has finally arrived in Maine! We have had a couple of snow storms but today it is COLD! The wind it blowing and tomorrow the wind chill is supposed to be 15 degrees below! Brrrr. This morning as I dropped off Ashley at the school - I went inside to pick up something from the teacher and all the kids were coming into the building saying "WHAT - no outside recess???!!!" The school is on a hill and the wind was blowing hard up there! The teachers are smart! (besides - who wants to have recess duty in the wind??!!)
I hope you are all having a wonderful week! i have gotten in a little scrapping time. I finished one more 12x12 layout but I cannot post pics yet as it is a gift! The other one is almost finished! I had to wait for some paint to dry to finish assembling it! They are so much fun to do!
I have gotten some terrific inspiration from this site here. There is some amazing work on here! Check it out! I need to wrap presents tonight as we are headed north to visit my husbands family for the 1st of many Christmas celebrations! (I hate wrapping presents!). I will try and remember to take some more pictures of the cards I finished making the other night! Some are very plain and simple, but quick! Gotta love quick this time of the year!
Off to test the mock toffee I made! Have a terrific day!

12x12 layouts

Happy Monday all!!! We had another few inches of snow last night. Just enough to make it messy and slick driving! I think I am all done Christmas shopping. Are you????

So you have any special traditions that you and your family do for Christmas? Please share them with me! I would love to hear about them!

As promised - here are a couple pictures of 12x12 framed layouts I have made for Christmas presents! I can safely post them here (and on Facebook - since neither "gift getters" do much online!) They are very close so I will post pics of the one with the most pictures!!!

I used the Stampin Up DSP Cottage Wall paper! I love their DSP since it all coordinates and the colors are so vibrant! I might have to order another package! I inked some chipboard elements (photo corners and photo turns) moss green and the others violet, to match my colors! Then I used clear embossing powder on them to give them some shine and to seal in the color! I also used up some square slides for frames. I sponged on some of the moss and violet inks as well. I also sponged some ink onto the white flower to tone down the stark white! And of course I had to use some big, bright flowers! Gotta love flowers!
I am in the process of making a couple more framed layouts but they will have to wait until later to post as I don't want to spoil the surprise!!! Have a terrific day all!!!

Some scrapping has been accomplished!

While we were having our jammie day while it snowed the other day - I actually got some simple cards done for a Christmas present! I still have more to make but it is a start! I got several ideas from Splitcoast Stampers site for the stamp sets that I have. It made the card ideas so easy to pound them out! Perhaps more will get done tonight!!!

I did also work on some layouts for gifts! I will get some pics of those as well and get them posted! have a terrific day!

Finally!!!!!!!

I am still here!!! Yesterday we got snowed under with about a foot of snow! So - Ashley and I had a pajama day and got some much needed things done!!! And I got to spend some time in my scraproom!!

But - I promised pics and info on our mystery trip to Boston! For those who hadn't heard - Santa had a letter delivered to McDonald's last Thursday telling the girls that they were headed on a mystery trip the next morning. After a train ride, several clues and a few snafus (including a $60 cab ride) we arrived at the American Girl Doll Store in Boston! The girls were awesome! They ran in and chose the dolls they wanted fairly quickly! They wandered around deciding on a couple of outfits. There was so much to look at! And the place was super busy! We thought that a Friday wouldn't be too bad! Wrong!!! I cannot imagine what it would be like on a Saturday! :)

We made reservations at the Bistro for lunch! The dolls had their own seats and even were served a small muffin! Lunch was yummy!

We window shopped in the mall, saw Santa and thanked him for an awesome adventure! We called our buddy the cab driver (Tom) and he took us to Quincy Market. We wandered around there, listening to a band playing Christmas carols and watched some street performers dancing. Then we worked our way back to North station to catch the train home! It was a very long but fun day!

it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

Wow - where has the time gone? It has been almost a week since I posted! A lot has happened since then!!! On Friday Santa surprised Ashley and her cousin Grace with a mystery trip to Boston to the American Girl Doll Store! I will upload and post pictures tomorrow! What an awesome adventure! I will definitely be scrapping this event! The girls are even convinced that they saw an elf!!! If you ask them - they will tell you that they couldn't see her ears (because she was wearing a hat) but her toes were curled!!!! :)
Christmas will be here before you know it! Are you done your shopping??!! I have some projects that MUST get done! Hopefully I can find a few minutes in my evenings to get started on them this week! Tonight is supposed to be my dance class but we will see! We are expecting the first BIG snow of the season tomorrow so who knows what tomorrow will bring! It snows over the weekend and it was so pretty but I really am NOT looking forward to snow!
On a side note - I have been listening to the Go Fish Guys Christmas CD "Snow" and love so many of their songs! This one is called "Christmas with a capital C". Hopefully you can view the link to it here! What a song! It makes me remember that Jesus is the reason for the season each time I hear it!
Well, I will see you tomorrow with pics from our trip! Have a terrific day!

Decorating the house

This is the latest I have put up the Christmas decorations in a long time. But having to run out to replace the lights threw me off this year!!! But here are some shots I got while in the progress!!!! Enjoy! I love snowmen! So the majority of my decorations are snowmen! I even leave some of my favorites out all year round! Ash decided this year she cold put the tree together! She did pretty good too!
The Christmas village was my moms and she gave 1/2 of it to use and the other half to my brother's family this year! It looks so beautiful set up in my entryway!
Ashley and my yellow lab Maggie were being silly laying on the floor! And poor Maggie - she wasn't so sure about the reindeer antlers either! Hopefully she will get used to them! I am sure Ash will have her wearing them a lot!!

December at last!!!!

December 1st! That only leaves 24 more days till Christmas!!! Yeah! I love this time of year!!

I promised last week that I would post some pics of my table from the craft fair a couple of weeks ago! So here they are. Nothing fancy but I had a good time!!!

Every year on Thanksgiving we take the girl's picture to put on a t-shirt for my dad. We have done this every year since Grace was a baby. Dad loves his t-shirts and wears them whenever he can!! He knows about this gift but is thrilled all the same! The girls were being silly this year! Here are some random shots from our "photo shoot" from Thanksgiving!!!

I finally got my Christmas lights yesterday. We found out (after we had them all strung on the tree) that the cat had chewed the cord. So I had to go to Walmart yesterday! The rest of the house is mostly decorated! I will post pics tomorrow!!!
The Elf came yesterday. For those who do not know the story of our Elf - here goes!!! Every year - around the weekend after Thanksgiving - a magical Elf appears in our home. He moves around the house, keeping an eye on things. You never know where he will be. Some days he stays in the same spot for a while and other times he moves several times a day. This morning he was hiding among the snowmen on my shelf. Then, on Christmas Eve, he reports back to Santa (or beforehand if need be) and lets him know if Ashley has been good. He magically appeared around Christmas the year we moved into our house! I will try and get some picture of the Elf! He does some interesting things when no one is home!!!
Have a terrific day! Thanks for popping in!
